Student Transfer Outreach and Mentor Program's (STOMP) Virtual 22nd Annual Conference

Students are invited to attend the Student Transfer Outreach and Mentor Program's (STOMP) Virtual 22nd Annual Conference on Saturday, April 3. In this webinar, participants will have an opportunity to learn about the University of California transfer admission process and gain insight and resources for achieving your transfer goals. The virtual UCLA STOMP Conference is a free event that hosts students from California community colleges with transfer-focused presentations.

There will be various sessions available to choose from. For more information, view the agenda. This is an enriching opportunity to interact and chat with representatives from UC campuses, current UCLA students and staff. An optional live guided transfer tour will also be offered at the end of the conference. We look forward to welcoming you into this virtual space!
Hispanic Fund Silicon Valley STEM Scholarship

The Latinos in Technology Scholarship was established by the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley, a public foundation dedicated to inspiring community philanthropy and engaging people to invest in the educational achievement and leadership development of a thriving Latinx community in Silicon Valley. This program will give up to 100 Latinx students the support they need to graduate from college. Additionally, scholarship recipients will be considered for summer internships with sponsoring corporate investors.

The deadline is March 19. Please see this link for more information: Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

Finals Week Closure

As final exams approach next week, we’d like to encourage you to be kind to yourselves and practice self-care. We understand this is a stressful time but remember that mental and physical health is essential for academic success. Please make sure you are getting enough sleep, drinking lots of water, and eating nourishing foods.

We will be available for individual appointments next week but will not host open office hours. In addition, our office will be closed during Spring Break and will reopen on Monday, April 5.
Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month! Please check out this month's events here and mark your calendars to attend various campus events to honor the legacies and impact of "World-Changing Women."

Research and Service Learning Symposium
We know that many Honors students look forward to participating in the Bay Area Honors Consortium Research Symposium. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this year's symposium has been canceled. However, we want to remind you that Foothill College has its very own research and service leadership symposium and we strongly encourage Honors students to apply and participate. Applications are due March 19, 2021, so now is a great time to start envisioning projects and research proposals.
What exactly is the Research and Service Leadership Symposium?

The Research and Service Leadership Symposium provides students an opportunity to expand their learning beyond the walls of the classroom (or the confines of the screen), to investigate their world through in-depth research projects, to create and participate in worthwhile service-learning activities, including original creative arts projects, and to present their newfound knowledge, insights, and experiences to the campus community.
