Honors Research Symposium Workshop
The deadline to submit your abstract for the 13th Annual Honors Research Symposium is Friday, February 14, 2020. This year, UC Berkeley will be hosting the symposium which will attract community college students from all across California.The Honors Research Symposium gives students the opportunity to participate in scholarly research in a variety of disciplines, with the goal of presenting their findings.
The purpose of this workshop is to help you with writing an abstract for your proposal to eventually present your findings. Check out last year's

to see the research presentations that were accepted. Our Honors Institute had
thirteen proposals
selected last year. Please

The Honors Institute will be closed for the Winter Break starting on Friday, December 13. Our office will reopen on Monday, January 6, 2020. If you have questions, we will be checking our

Congratulations to those of you who submitted your UC and CSU applications last week! As a reminder, in January and February, the Honors Institute will be holding UCLA TAP Certification workshops. When the dates and locations are confirmed, we will include those in our newsletter. Make sure to keep a lookout!

Community Campus Involvement and Participation Opportunities: Diversity in Student Leadership Retreat
Applications are now open for the Diversity in Student Leadership Retreat happening February 7-9, 2020 at the Koinonia Conference Center in Corralitos, Ca (near Watsonville).
There are spots for up to 35 students for this overnight adventure in the woods where you will explore topics on cultural identity and leadership, and alliance building and support. By participating in this retreat, you will work through a series of low ropes courses, team building and workshop activities designed to build community, trust, empathy. This experience aims to encourage you and your fellow students to dream big about the type of leaders you want to become.
