News about our Newsletter

We want to thank all of you who continue to give us feedback on our weekly newsletters; we are happy to know that many of you find the information useful and informative. We have also been receiving great feedback from folks about various campus events, service learning opportunities, and leadership opportunities that we've been able to post in our newsletter due to more participation from campus leaders and student groups. We ask that you continue to contribute your ideas about such events and opportunities so that we can spread the word and keep all of you engaged with campus life. This quarter we will be moving from a weekly to a bi-weekly newsletter so as to allow for more time to coordinate and plan workshops for students and other important events and to prepare ourselves and students for our upcoming symposiums. We believe this bi-weekly approach will also provide folks with more time to get us the information we need about various on and off campus opportunities available to students. Please keep your announcements coming and stay tuned for our next newsletter on Monday, January 20, 2020.

UC Transfer Academic Update (TAU)

Transfer students are required to update their application with Fall 2019 grades and confirmation/modification of winter/spring 2020 courses by the end of January.

Transfer applicants will receive an email message from UC in early January to begin completing the TAU. All transfer applicants must submit a TAU, including students who applied in December or early January to one of the three open campuses, and including students who have no fall 2019 grades or winter/spring 2020 courses to report.

Failure to complete the TAU may impact admission status, so please complete the TAU prior to the January 31 deadline.

F oothill College Speaker Series- Cornel West

Start your winter quarter off by attending one of Foothill's Speaker Series events. On January 17, 2020, Dr. Cornel West, professor, philosopher, author and activist, will be speaking to the Foothill College Community in the Smithwick Theater at 6:30pm.

Dr. Cornel West is a prominent and provocative democratic intellectual, he is Professor of the Practice of Public Philosophy at Harvard University and holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. He has also taught at Union Theological Seminary, Yale, Harvard, and the University of Paris. Cornel West graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard in three years and obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy at Princeton. He has written and published 20 books and has edited 13 books. He is best known for hits classic: Race Matters and Democracy Matters .
