NEW ACE LANGUAGE CLASSES
We are excited to announce IPSF's Afterschool Classroom Enrichment (ACE) has added two year-long language learning classes, Farsi and Spanish, to its offerings at Vista Verde. These new ACE classes will teach speaking, reading, and writing, in addition to fostering confidence and cultural awareness.

IPSF is always working to expand the ACE program in order to enhance your student's educational experience. If you are interested in starting an ACE program at your school, or becoming an ACE coordinator, contact ipsfacademy@ipsf.net.

INSTRUMENT RENTAL DAY
Save the Date! Instrument Rental Day is coming on Saturday, September 10. Each year, IPSF rents nearly 2,000 high-quality musical instruments at affordable prices to students in IUSD. Instrument Rental (IR) offers parents a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new instrument that may only be used for a short time. Proceeds from the IR program support music programs across the district.

Appointments must be made online in advance. Reserve your appointment online beginning September 6 at 8 a.m. through September 9 at noon. Click below for more information.

IRVINE EDUCATORS EXPAND THEIR CULTURAL KNOWLEDGE

Last week, IPSF hosted the 4th annual Program to Advance Cultural Education (PACE), which provided IUSD educators a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge of Chinese history and culture. The three-day program included lessons in Chinese language, art, music, and traditional folk dance. Teachers also learned about Chinese culture and traditions so that they can be better equipped to understand and address the needs of their Chinese students.

PACE is a collaboration between IPSF and Fullerton International Resources for Students and Teachers (FIRST) of California State University, Fullerton, South Coast Chinese Cultural Association and is made possible by the generous support of the Irvine Chinese School, and is sponsored by Rose Hills Memorial Park.

IPSF CULINARY CAMP

Learning comes alive when students are pursuing their passions. During our week-long Culinary Creations Camp, led by Creekside High School's newest instructor, Melissa Browder, students had the opportunity to learn how to make delicious homemade dishes including ceviche, pizzas, scones, and spaghetti and meatballs, in addition to kitchen safety, proper dish washing and even laundry!

Students had an extra special treat when special guest-instructor Peilin Breller, IUSD alum and professional culinary stylist , conducted a class dedicated to the art of food styling.

We were so impressed by the level of skill and imagination the students displayed! Thank you to Mrs. Breller for her continued support of IPSF and help in bringing enhanced enrichment to our culinary program. We would also like to thank Melissa's Produce for donating their fresh produce and products to the class. Click below to view photos.
