KNEWSLETTER - Vol. 42
Greetings!
Is it hot enough for ya?! We have certainly been feeling the heat. We're cooking right along at the Kyard - doing our best to get your boats back on the Bay as soon as possible so you can keep it cool!

We hope you're staying safe from all the things that 2020 has been throwing at us. We're doing our best to do the same - while maintaining our sanity! Please reach out to us if you need help with any boating maintenance, repairs, upgrades or anomalies; we're here for you!

We look forward to seeing you here in the Kyard or out on the Bay!
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
If you're going to be visiting a Kyard for service or parts, please review our protocols and be aware that we are requiring facial coverings and social distancing at both of our facilities. And if possible, consider phoning or emailing rather than visiting in person.
CONGRATULATIONS TO KATE!
A little firecracker popped into Kate's family on the 4th of July! Welcome to granddaughter Mae Rose - 9lbs, 2oz. Congratulations to Kate and family!
FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE...
Ever wonder what happens to a boat in the San Francisco Bay that doesn't have any bottom paint?
Here's a little fun from the folks at Latitude38. Be sure to enter the caption contest.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE (TAKE 2)?
It was suggested, and duly noted, that there are plenty of great sailing books written by women that are also worthy of recognition. So in that spirit, we asked you to vote for your favorite sailing book authored by a female. Based on the overwhelming responses, these books appear to be significantly more appreciated than the list of "classics" for which we had previously asked you to vote.

So without further ado, the winner to last month's survey is...
A shockingly exact three-way tie for 1st place,each with 20.6% between :
  • Maiden - Tracy Edwards
  • Swell - Liz Clark
  • Maiden Voyage - Tania Aebi

2nd (or 4th, however you look at it) was Against the Flow with 13.5% of the vote

3rd (or 5th & 6th - boy, is this getting complicated!) again an exact two-way tie with 10.8% each:
  • Taking on the World - Ellen MacArthur
  • Red Sky Mourning - Tami Oldham Ashcroft

4th (or 7th - sheesh) was True Spirit by Jessica Watson with 2.1%

And finally 5th (or 8th - oh for gosh sakes) By the Grace of the Sea by Pat Henry with 1%

Looks like plenty of good reading choices for you to keep you occupied.
