KNEWSLETTER Vol. 19

This week is 4 th of July. It's that time when everything is draped in American flag bunting, sparklers appear on the shelves at all the stores, and your calendar is riddled with picnic invites.

The temperatures in the Valley are heating up causing air to expand and rise, leaving a low-pressure void that sucks wind in through the Gate... that sets the SF Bay wind machine to "ON". It's the perfect time of year to go boating to escape the heat - just be sure to mind the slot!

We would like to wish you a very happy and safe holiday!

FROM THE BILGE
by Paul Kaplan

I'm likely to regret saying this but....in all my years of sailing I've never been on a boat that lost its mast. No doubt there  were plenty of occasions when I thought for sure the rig was about to come down, but  usually this was due to human error or pushing  the boat too hard. The fact is, masts just don't fall down. Something needs to break or become loaded well beyond its intended purpose.  Read more.

Just a reminder... it's dangerous out there, people! Be careful on this holiday and always!

CHECKING IN ON RANDALL REEVES

Randall is a horse headed for the barn. As you can see in this screen shot of the tracker on his website, he should be home soon. Hang in there, Randall - you're almost home!

WE'RE HIRING!
We are so proud of the people who work here - being a family-run business, we embrace the family vibe. If you know someone who would be a good fit in our team of craftspeople, we would love the opportunity to meet with them. See more information here.

We are looking for that special someone who is naturally drawn to solving electronics puzzles and loves being around boats.

We are also looking down the road for a woodworking apprentice. If you're interested in woodworking and have some experience in that area, give us a holler and let's talk!
