Knews from the K-yard and we don't mean Paul Cayard!
KKMI KNEWS

It was so fun to see so many of you at the Sausalito Harbor Festival! Thanks for stopping by and saying Hello. We had a great time, we hope you did too.

With Opening Day in our wake and Memorial Day fast approaching, we are looking forward to a safe and fun boating season. We look forward to seeing you out on the water - or if you're in the yard, we hope to see you on the water very soon!

Happy boating!
FROM THE BILGE
A collection of random musings that are not so obvious about our company and the maritime industry - insights if you will.

"Life is like a sewer - what you get out of it depends on what you put into it."
Tom Leher, noted Harvard mathematician and satirist...among other things.

What Mr. Leher observed about life can also be said of your boat - what you get out of it depends on what you put into it. While it may seem like a cruel trick to tell you this if you are already a boat owner... this statement is true. Whether we are talking about reliability, resale or your pleasure....the amount of care (and money) invested in your vessel will have a direct impact on how much you'll ultimately get out of your floating investment.  Read More

FROM THE KYARD

There are a lot of quacks in this world... we certainly resemble that remark... we had some visitors the other day at the yard in Point Richmond. It was so nice of them to stop by...
Waddle we think of next?
Waddle we see at the Kyard next?

FIRE EXTINGUISHER RECALL

Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) has reported that well-known fire extinguisher manufacturer, Kidde, in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a voluntary recall to replace certain Kidde fire extinguisher units. A faulty valve component can cause the disposable fire extinguishers not to fully discharge when the lever is repeatedly pressed and released during a fire emergency, posing a risk of injury. About 4.6 million extinguishers are affected that were sold nationwide between August 2013 and November 2015.
