It's Hispanic Heritage Month—let’s celebrate! Let’s honor the significant contributions and achievements of Hispanic Americans that have enriched our culture. Celebration of Hispanic heritage initially began as a week-long observance in 1968. It was then turned into a month-long celebration in 1988. In 1988, it was also enacted into a law to ensure the United States would pay tribute to Hispanic Americans. Now, Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated September 15 to October 15, with many countries celebrating the anniversary of their independence within this month.
Let’s come together to celebrate and learn about Hispanic traditions and customs. Begin by supporting our Hispanic-owned businesses like shops and restaurants. Read books written by Hispanic authors, enjoy watching movies with Hispanic directors and actors, and dance to a playlist of your favorite Hispanic artists. Let’s unite and celebrate together to enrich ourselves in the Hispanic culture.
