Join us in saying farewell to our beloved Manager of Solutions Integration, Ronda Newman, as she ventures off to her next adventure!
"I absolutely treasure all the people I have worked with over the years! We had some fun, didn’t we? 😊" - Ronda
Her advice to you...

"I learned over time that the basis of any success in my job was my ability to form and sustain good relationships with others. I was never the smartest person in the room, but I could usually get anyone to work with me. That learning lesson was golden." - Ronda
A little back story of Ronda's career....
Ronda worked for 33 years for Nebraska Health and Human Services, specifically Child Protective Services. She began as a CPS worker, investigator, moved to supervisor and then administrator. After her service with HHS, she moved to Project Everlast, serving young people who have experienced foster care, homelessness, criminal justice, or sex trafficking. From there, she entered the world of workforce development at Heartland Workforce Solutions. Each experience brought different learning lessons, joys, heartaches, successes, and failures. Taken as a whole, she would say she has been blessed to be able to serve people in different capacities. Service was, and is, in her DNA and states it was a privilege to be able to form a career serving others.
Her plans for retirement...

"I believe the Universe will show me what the next chapter in my life will consist of, so I will allow that chapter to unfold as it is intended. I plan to spend as much time as possible with my 2 daughters, my friends, and my puppies. I will find some way to continue in service in some way."- Ronda

A special thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Ronda! Good luck and you have our best wishes. You WILL be missed! - HWS team

Success Stories💫
  • There were two clients referred to the WIOA Adult program by Lutheran Family Services, to receive training and supportive services. The clients were able to secure work at QLI. After working for two months, the two clients were ready to move on and move up. They are now able to take the CNA course through QLI and backed up by WIOA Adult programming and Lutheran Family Services case management.

  • “We have been very pleased with how trained the maintenance techs come from their training classes and on to properties. The knowledge that they learn in class makes it easier for when on site and they are getting more of the hands on training. The communication we get from you and others on the team is great and we always appreciate you keeping us in mind when referring current or previous students.” -Lund Company

Become part of the ACT Work Ready Community!

What is Work Ready Communities Initiative?
The ACT Work Ready Communities Initiative is a strategic framework, where the supply of ACT National Career Readiness Certificates (NCRC) earned by individuals, is matched with a demand by businesses who either recognize or recommend the credential. Employers can help their communities build a stronger workforce with the right foundational skill by supporting their counties by learning how the ACT NCRC can help them find the right employee, with the right skill set. Heartland Workforce Solutions and Metropolitan Community College are partnered in supporting this initiative.
