New Executive Director

Meet Kirstine Molloy!

Kirstine and her husband have called Carrollton, MO “home” for their entire lives. After finishing their college education, it was an easy decision to move back to their hometown to raise their family, because it is such a beautiful and safe small town. Over the past 5 years, Carrollton has continued to become a better place to live and thrive as a family with the fun local events, school facilities and park improvements that have been completed.

She says, “I am excited to be a part of My Hometown Carrollton, the Main Street organization for Carrollton, to work with our community leaders to plan future downtown improvements together.” She brings a Management & Marketing Bachelor's degree, eight years of sales experience with American Family Insurance, and six years in non-profit leadership roles to her position as Executive Director. My Hometown Carrollton is in the start-up and planning phase, so they have focused on branding and promoting a positive perception of their town by starting a new “Back to Our Roots” yard sign campaign and a #walkdowntown Wednesday social media campaign, which shows the public why they love their small town. She believes with the amazing team of community members involved in the revitalization initiative through My Hometown Carrollton, they will bring about more positive change for many generations!

When she’s not working in the office or chasing after her three kiddos, she love being outdoors on the family farm and volunteering at her church and pregnancy resource center.

Priming an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

Many Main Street programs are looking for ways to fill vacant commercial spaces with quality businesses that enhance the region. To generate growth in your district, learn how leading Main Street programs utilize tools like incubation spaces, fabrication labs, and entrepreneurial training classes. This session will also discuss the development, funding, and outcomes of newer downtown growth strategies.

Emporia Main Street’s Director, Casey Woods, will share the organization's experience with these programs in their rural community in Kansas over the past sixteen years. The entrepreneurial journey begins with training classes, which have helped start or expand over 100 businesses in the region; to pitch events; Main Street managed incubator space; and finally a fabrication facility to support existing businesses and aspiring creators.

These concepts and their representative supporting elements will be discussed within the webinar.

Online Webinar on June 7th at 8:30AM.
