WHAT'S HAPPENING AT PHUMC?

This year for our Raney Series, we are doing something a little different. Instead of a guest preacher or presenter, we are going to have a three-night revival.

Methodism was born as a revival movement. For John and Charles Wesley, revival wasn’t a sales pitch for heaven or a performative act. It was the slow, holy work of igniting the church, through the work of the Holy Spirit, to spread what they called “scriptural holiness” across communities. This same revival movement, over generations, helped end slavery, reform prisons, expand education, and open new roles for women in ministry. Revival, at its best, is transformation: of hearts, of congregations, of the world God so loves.

That is the revival we are reclaiming. Three nights to gather, sing, pray, listen, and let God do the quiet, persistent work of making us new.

Wednesdays May 20th through June 17th, join Dr. Robbins for his new bible study, One Book-One Night, and learn about books from the Bible that are often overlooked or ignored. Next week, we will review the book of Lamentations. It will be held from 6:00-7:00PM in Wesley Hall as well as livestreamed. Refreshments provided!

Donuts are on a break this summer, but don't worry, you can take Dale the Donut with you on your summer adventures! Pick up a Dale the Donut cutout at the donut table or Welcome Desk, bring him with you on your adventures, take some photos with him, and tag the church on social media!

Join us for our Cancer Friends Luncheon on Thursday, June 4th from 11:30AM-1:00PM in Wesley Hall. We will eat a meal, listen to speaker Rev. Ellen Rowland, and remember those we have lost during the past year. Cost is $10 per person.

RSVP by going to phumc.com/cancer-friends, signing the book at the Welcome Desk, or calling 501-664-3600.

Walking the Mourner’s Path is an in-person grief group for anyone who has suffered a significant loss and would like to process it in a group setting. Please note, we recommend you be at least 3 months removed from the death of your loved one to be best served by this particular group. It is Christ-centered, scripturally and spiritually based. Through the 8-week program on Sundays, June 7-July 26, 3:00-5:00PM, mourners learn ways to honor their loved ones, seek spiritual direction, and discover God’s promise of comfort in community!

There is a $60 fee, which goes toward materials.

This summer, we’re trying something a little different—and a lot of fun! Join us July 7–9 from 5:30-7:00pm for Vacation Bible Camp, The Story of Moses, in a brand-new evening format designed for the whole family. We’re hosting an interactive dinner theatre experience where children, parents, and grandparents can all gather around the table, share a meal, laugh together, and dive into faith in a creative and engaging way. It’s Vacation Bible Camp reimagined: fresh, interactive, and full of surprises.

RSVP now at phumc.com/vbc.

IN THE COMMUNITY

Arkansas Conference Mission will be July 29 - August 1 at Hendrix College. Mission is an opportunity for individuals to study current issues impacting society based on recent mission study topics. It is open to both members and non-members of United Women in Faith. Participants can engage in classes covering three themes: spiritual growth, social issues, and geographic studies. Additionally, there are specific studies available for children and youth. The event aims to foster understanding of the mission of the church in the current world context, with particular attention to the responsibilities of women in fulfilling the church’s mission work. Worship, singing, interest groups, audiovisual presentations, and fellowship events are also part of the Mission experience.
