From July 19–28, 2027, a group from PHUMC will travel to Mwanza, Tanzania for a Service and Learning Trip rooted in partnership with Wesley College, a United Methodist school. We will learn about the school's mission and meet with students. And we'll spend time understanding the ways that education in health, business, communications, and theology is helping transform the church and the nation.
If you’re interested in participating in this exciting opportunity, join us for an informational zoom meeting on August 13th at 6:00PM! Contact Rev. Katye Chambers at kchambers@phumc.com for the link.

Is your child interested in being a part of worship on Sunday mornings? We invite them to join us for Acolyte Training on Sunday, August 16th, from 3:00–4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Serving as an acolyte is a meaningful way to participate in worship. Acolytes help begin and end each service, symbolically leading us into worship and then back out into the world to be the light of Christ. It is an important way for young people to serve our church. We are currently in need of additional acolytes for our worship services and would love for your child to be part of this ministry. Whether they are new to serving or simply need a refresher, this training will provide everything they need to feel confident in this role. Sign ups for students that have undergone training can be found by clicking the link below.

Join us for One-Room Sunday School. With a congregation of over 4,000, we rarely get the opportunity to come together as a community. This will be a time for us to learn, pray, and celebrate as one body!
We will also have a special unveiling that you won't want to miss.

This year for our Raney Series, we are doing something a little different. Instead of a guest preacher or presenter, we are going to have a three-night revival.
Methodism was born as a revival movement. For John and Charles Wesley, revival wasn’t a sales pitch for heaven or a performative act. It was the slow, holy work of igniting the church, through the work of the Holy Spirit, to spread what they called “scriptural holiness” across communities. This same revival movement, over generations, helped end slavery, reform prisons, expand education, and open new roles for women in ministry. Revival, at its best, is transformation: of hearts, of congregations, of the world God so loves.
Check out this year's schedule:
Sunday, September 20 at 6:00 PM in the Great Hall
Rev. Anne-Marie Berg preaching — This service will be shaped by the Cokesbury hymnal and the deep well of Methodist song.
Monday, September 21 at 6:00 PM in the Great Hall
Rev. Ross Furio preaching — This service will feature an eclectic evening of music with a gospel heart.
Tuesday, September 22 at 6:00 PM in the Great Hall
Rev. Sam Robbins preaching — This service will be modern worship with guest singers leading us.

I want to invite you to be a part of something that will create life-long memories. March 29-April 10, 2027, Jay Clark and I will host a Celtic Christianity trip to Ireland. This will be a wonderful opportunity to deepen your faith and see the beauty of God’s creation across the Atlantic, along with others traveling with us.
I am very excited about this trip because it also affords me the privilege of interacting with members of PHUMC in a more informal way, while enjoying the beautiful scenery and food as we enjoy locations that are unique to Ireland, while, at the same time, learning more about our Christian heritage.
I want to encourage you to contact Rev. Jay Clark at jclark@phumc.com for more information. I hope you will prayerfully consider joining us. I look forward to the joy of traveling on this spiritual journey with you!
