WHAT'S HAPPENING AT PHUMC?

This Sunday the PHUMC Connect Fair will be in the Argue Great Hall (Gym) from 10:00-11:00AM! We’ll have information and opportunities to sign up for all kinds of ministries. This is your chance to learn about the breadth of what PHUMC does and find your place to learn, serve, and fellowship! Can't make it in-person? Visit our virtual Connect Portal at phumc.com/connect-fair.

Wednesday Nights at Pulaski Heights is in full swing! New this year, our Kitchen Coordinator, Heather Doherty is cooking all of our food in-house. Big thanks to Dr. Robbins, Chuck Cole and Virginia Porta for helping prepare food this week!

Heather needs volunteers to help prepare and clean up food. Volunteer by clicking here or the button below.

We are so thankful that our church has been nominated for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Best of the Best, best place to worship category AND best place to work for <250 employees category. You can vote for us here! Be sure to tell your friends!

Do you, or someone you know, have gifts to share in church leadership? We’re currently accepting nominations for several Pulaski Heights UMC committees with terms beginning January 1, 2026. Most committees serve three-year terms and meet regularly throughout the year.

Whether you’re passionate about finances, supporting the staff, or helping shape the vision of the church, there’s a place for you. Committees like Finance, Staff-Parish Relations, Trustees, and more are looking for faithful leaders.

You can nominate yourself or someone else by visiting phumc.com/nomination.

As part of our This Place Matters Capital Campaign, we’re offering Hard Hat Tours during the Sunday School hour (10:10-10:50AM) on Sunday, September 7. These guided tours will give you a chance to look at the key areas of our campus that will be impacted by the campaign—and help bring to life the importance of this work. This will be a great opportunity to connect the dots between our church’s ministry and the spaces that support it.

If you are interested you can meet in the Capital Campaign Headquarters in the skybridge at 10:00 or your Sunday School class (ask your Sunday School president if your class plans on participating).

It’s that time of year! The Razorbacks are playing Arkansas State at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 6th! PHUMC will open our parking lot for the game. You can reserve a spot today for $40. We will also be selling parking spots on the day of the game for $25! All proceeds will go to PHUMC Youth Missions.

MISSIONS

Our August Monthly Mission collection is for Wakefield Elementary School. We are asking for people to donate money for school supplies so that we can buy in bulk for Wakefield students! Go to phumc.com/give and select Wakefield School Supplies to donate.

This summer we were able to send two teams to Guatemala to partner with Project Salud y Paz, a ministry of the United Methodist Church through Volunteers in Mission, to provide medical and surgical care for native Mayan communities. Our Surgical team performed 84 surgeries during their week, and our medical team went back for the first time since 2019, and saw 308 patients providing medical and dental care. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to provide a toothbrush and toothpaste to every patient!

JOYS AND CONCERNS

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED to Scarlet and Sarah Williams in the death of their grandfather, James Moore; to Charleen Francis and family in the death of her aunt, Rosalyn Cordell.

WE PRAY FOR ALL WHO ARE ILL OR RECENTLY HOSPITALIZED INCLUDING Norma Knutson, Joe Gillespie, Alice McCoy, Jim Gaston, and William "Pat" Patterson.
