One of our newest ministries. PHMen, seeks to be a supportive and welcoming community for men in all life stages. Want an opportunity to bring Christmas cheer to a family? Here’s your chance! PHUMC is sponsoring over 200 Wakefield Elementary children for Christmas, and we need sponsors to purchase items on the lists the children and their siblings have prepared! Sponsor packets will be mailed the Friday before Thanksgiving, and gifts are due back to the church on Sunday, December 8th. If you would like to sign up please email Nancy Delacerda at ndelacerda@comcast.net, and let her know how many children you would like to sponsor and what address you would like the packet mailed to. In addition to honoring all of the saints who have passed and joined the Church Triumphant during Sunday morning worship services for All Saints Sunday; we will have a Service of Remembrance in the Columbarium.

It’s time for our Annual Socktoberfest. We are looking for BRAND NEW socks for all ages to be distributed to local homeless shelters and other non-profit agencies. Bring the socks to the Gathering Hall, Welcome Desk, or the Donation Station outside Entrance 9.

Hamilton (Carlisle) and Humnoke United Methodist Churches are looking for a pianist on Sunday mornings. Services are held at 11 a.m., alternating between churches each week. They are looking for someone with experience playing at a small church and who is committed to regular attendance. Playing at special services will also be required. Pay will be a regular salary plus mileage (over 20 miles) based on experience. Applicants will be asked to play at one service as an audition.

  1. We are currently looking for Sunday School classes, small groups, and individuals to open their trunks and volunteer! Go to phumc.com/trunk-or-treat to sign up to host a trunk!
  2. Volunteer to be a greeter by clicking here.
  3. Our Family Ministries team is looking for candy! We need individually-wrapped candy to give out. You can donate candy at the Donation Station outside of Entrance 9 or bring it to the Welcome Desk inside of Entrance 1. Prefer to give money for candy? Just go to phumc.com/candy!

Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for all ages on Sundays from 10:10-10:50 am.

  • Children (4th grade and under)
  • Infant/Toddler and Preschool childcare is offered throughout the morning.
  • Preschool classes meet on the bottom floor of the Norma Story Building.
  • Kindergarten through 4th grade meet on the top floor of the Norma Story Building.
  • Youth (5th-12th) - Meet in the youth lounge on the 3rd floor above Wesley Hall.
  • Adults - We have many different classes you can attend! Find the class that's right for you at phumc.com/sundayschool.

MISSIONS

This week we completed the Spirit of Arkansas Diaper Drive by counting diapers. Through diapers and monetary donations, we collected 100,472 diapers, which exceeded our goal by over 10,000! Thanks to Edwards Food Giant and KATV-Channel 7 for partnering with the Diaper Bank for the 5th straight year to make all of this possible! A special thanks to Entergy Arkansas and All My Sons Moving & Storage for helping us unpack and count diapers.

JOYS AND CONCERNS

WE PRAY FOR ALL EXPERIENCING GRIEF AND LOSS THIS DAY AND OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY IS EXTENDED to To Genny Beardsley and family in the recent death of her sister-in-law, Karen McRaven; to Jason Dashiell, Kay Venetten and families in the death of their wife and daughter, Tammy Dashiell; and to Susan Branton Linville and family in the death of her mother, Betsy Branton.
