"God of calm amidst the storms, we pray for those who are displaced by the winds and waters of Hurricane Ian. Give them peace of mind and heart even amid their struggles. Give them a real sense of your Presence through the helping hands of neighbors and friends who will help in concrete ways. And give those who live in areas unaffected by the storms a sense of love to reach out to those who are hurting. In your holy name we pray, Amen."

Currently, the best way we can respond is to give financially to Hurricane Relief through UMCOR. The United Methodist Committee on Relief responds to natural disasters that overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on its own. Through UMCOR, we can work together with other churches in our connection to extend loving care when disaster strikes. Go to umcmission.org/umcor to give to UMCOR for hurricane relief.
