WHAT'S HAPPENING AT PHUMC?

Trunk or Treat will be THIS SUNDAY October 26 from 3-5pm in the Lower Parking Deck. This is a great opportunity to come together as a congregation and to serve our community. There are four ways that you can help get involved:

  • Volunteer to help set up, take down, or be a greeter. You can sign up at phumc.com/tortvolunteer.
  • Join us! It's sure to be a spooktacular time!

In November, our Clothes Closet and Food Pantry are partnering up. In addition to giving out food, we will be giving out coats to our neighbors. Please bring your used coats of all sizes to the church by Tuesday, November 4. Please only bring coats in good condition that are clean (no rips, stains, etc). Drop off coats at the Welcome Desk. For questions email Rev. Katye Chambers at kchambers@phumc.com.

We have incredible news to share! Through your generosity and faith, our This Place Matters Capital Campaign has surpassed all expectations. Our goal was $5 million—but together, we received over $6.4 million in pledges! Your commitment ensures that we can immediately address the needs of our 75-year-old building—repairing essential systems, restoring our sacred spaces, and preparing for the future. The additional funds raised will be placed into a new building fund dedicated to the ongoing maintenance and care of our facilities.

We’re honored to be named Best Place to Worship and Best Place to Work (under 250 employees) by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette! Thank you to our incredible congregation, staff, Staff-Parish Relations Committee, and community for making Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church such a special place to Inspire Love, Embrace Christ, and Engage the World.

Christmas poinsettias ‘in honor of’ or ‘in memory of’ a loved one are available for $20 each, beginning October 26. They will be placed in the sanctuary during Advent and may be picked up after the 11:00PM Christmas Eve service or from the church on Dec. 29-31. Orders will close on December 14th and will be listed in the December 21st bulletin as well as the January Tower Newsletter. You can purchase them by going to phumc.com/poinsettia, calling the church office at 501-664-3600, or filling out the Poinsettia Form at the Welcome desk! Contact Theresa Smith at tsmith@phumc.com with any questions.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Dr. Robbins' book release party! Dr. Robbins' Book, "I Love to Tell The Story" is now available for purchase! You can purchase a copy at phumc.com/robbins, call the church office, or go to Amazon or Barnes & Noble's websites.

Also, make sure to see this great story about Dr. Robbins from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette this past weekend by clicking here.

There will be a called Charge Conference for the Administrative Board at 5:30pm on Thursday, October 30 to approve clergy salaries for 2026. If you have any questions you can contact Chief of Staff, Rev. Jay Clark at jclark@phumc.com.

In addition to honoring all of the saints who have passed in the last year and joined the Church Triumphant during Sunday morning worship services for All Saints Sunday, we will have a Service of Remembrance in the Columbarium on Sunday, November 2nd from 5:30-6:00PM. We will worship together and remember all of those who have left us.

Questions? Contact Brooke Sanchez-Hobbs at bhobbs@phumc.com or Rev. Daniel Curry at dcurry@phumc.com.

Please join us Tuesday, November 4th at 6:00pm in Wesley Hall for a screening of “God & Country.” This stirring and thought-provoking documentary dives deep into the complex relationship between faith, nationalism, and politics in our contemporary American society.

Dinner and childcare will be provided.

Questions? Contact Rev. Katye Chambers at kchambers@phumc.com.

Join us at noon in the Great Hall on Sunday, November 9th for a veterans celebration! This free luncheon is open to all veterans, or family members of veterans. Let us know you’re coming by calling the church office at 501-664-3600 or signing up online at phumc.com/veterans-lunch. Are you or a loved one a veteran that would like to be honored? Let us know by calling the church office at 501-664 or going to phumc.com/veteran.

If you have any questions, contact Bev Villines at bvillines@phumc.com.

On Sunday, November 23rd be sure to bring your appetite and your wallet. The United Women in Faith are having their annual bake sale in the Gathering Hall and Wesley Hall Welcome Center!
