Last Sunday we said a bittersweet goodbye as we celebrated Reverend Kathleen McMurray and the deep impact she’s had on our church community. While we’re sad to see her go, we send her with love and prayers as she begins her next chapter at Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. Thank you to everyone who came to her going away reception as your presence made the day even more special!

Last week our Caring Ministries Committee Chairs met to discuss the important work of caring for our congregation and community. During the meeting, we honored Jo Knight as she steps down after many faithful years as the Caring Chair and 30 years in the ministry. We are deeply grateful for Jo’s incredible dedication, compassion, and leadership — her impact on this ministry and our church family is immeasurable.

Join Dr. John Robbins as he facilitates the study “The Bible in 90 Days.” You’ll read the complete Bible in 90 days from September 22-December 22. During that time the class will meet Mondays at 5:30PM in Room C236 to discuss.

Pulaski Heights UMC will hold a series of important Church and Charge Conferences in the coming weeks:

* Called Church Conference – Sunday, August 17 at 10:00AM in the Sanctuary. All PHUMC members are invited to attend this called Church Conference. During this meeting, church leadership will outline the specific work being proposed for the church building and seek the congregation’s permission to borrow funds if necessary. 

* Charge Conference for Administrative Board – Monday, August 25 at 5:30PM - The Administrative Board to officially vote on moving forward with the capital campaign. 

* Annual Charge Conference – Sunday, October 5 at Noon - The Administrative Board will convene again to submit required reports to the Central District and the Arkansas Conference.

As United Methodists, we have a wonderful and long tradition of giving each 3rd grader their own Bible! We are excited to present our 3rd grade students with their Bibles on Sunday, August 24 at 9AM in the Classic service OR 11AM in the Modern service.

Wednesday Nights at Pulaski Heights will return on Wednesday, August 20th! We start serving meals for $10/adult at 5:00PM. We have classes and programming for all ages beginning at 6:00PM including Dr. Robbins' Bible Study, small groups, book studies, Let's Talk Enneagram, Children's activities, Youth Bible study, Midyouth, and more!

Our July Monthly Mission supports the PHUMC Clothes Closet, and we need your help! This month, we are collecting new or gently used clothing (including school uniforms) of all sizes to help meet the ongoing needs in our community. We have two groups going to Guatemala this month to work with our partner Salud y Paz. Our medical team will be working July 19-27 and our surgical team will be working July 26-August 3. We ask that you please keep these two groups in your prayers as they help those in need.
