Rev. Skarda will also be signing copies of his new book, “Sabbath Born: Tales of a Reluctant Prophet.” Copies will be available for purchase. Hope you can make it!

Don't forget to sign up to "Ring the Bell" on Saturday, December 3rd at locations around Little Rock! We will be ringing the bell in two-hour shifts from 10AM-6PM. There are still quite a few spots open! To see the options and sign up for a time slot, go to phumc.com/ring and use the group code: PHUMC. You can also call the church office at 501-664-3600 or email Rev. Abbey Maynard at [email protected] to get signed up! This is an important ministry because it frees up the Salvation Army from having to pay for bell-ringers which allows them to use the money raised to go directly towards helping people! We hope your family, Sunday School class or small group will sign up! 

SIGN UP TO RING THE BELL

PHUMC will again be sponsoring over 200 Wakefield Elementary children for Christmas! Thanks to your generosity, we have ALL SPOTS FILLED! For those who have agreed to sponsor a child, sponsor packets were mailed on Friday, November 18th, and gifts are due back to the church on Sunday, December 11th

If you didn’t get a chance to sponsor a child, but still want to help, we have other opportunities to do so with our partner, Methodist Family Health! Go to christmasatmfh.com or contact Rev. Christmas poinsettias ‘in honor of' or ‘in memory of’ a loved one are now available for $20 each. They will be placed in the sanctuary during Advent and may be picked up in the Gathering Hall after Christmas. Orders received in the church office by Sunday, December 19th will be listed in the Christmas Eve Bulletin. ORDER POINSETTIAS

Join us on Thursday, December 1st at 11:30AM in Wesley Hall for our PHUMC Cancer Friends Christmas Luncheon! The program will include: Celebrating Christmas in your Cancer Journey, presented by long-time Cancer Friends Encourager, Louise Rollefson. We will also remember Cancer Friends who have joined the Church Triumphant between January 2018 & October 31, 2022. Cost is $10.


Our entertainment will be Christmas music presented by Dr. Frode Gundersen, Director of Music and Worship Arts.

Calling all Primetimers and friends! Join us for our Christmas Party on Thursday, December 8th at 11:30AM in the PHUMC Gym! We will eat Christmas food and sing carols with the talented Dr. Frode Gundersen! SIGN UP FOR PRIMETIMERS CHRISTMAS PARTY

Walking the Mourner’s Path is an 8-week in-person grief group for anyone who has suffered a significant loss and would like to process it in a group setting. Led by Rev. Belinda Price, Kathy Roberts, and Pam Hunter, it is Christ centered, scripturally and spiritually based. Through the 8-week program, complete with a workbook, mourners learn ways to honor their loved ones, seek spiritual direction, and discover God’s promise of comfort in community!

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for all ages on Sundays from 10:10-10:50AM.

  • Children (4th grade and under)
  • Infant/Toddler and Preschool childcare is offered throughout the morning
  • Children’s Sunday School is from 10:10-10:50am
  • Preschool classes meet on the bottom floor of the Norma Story Building.
  • Kindergarten through 4th grade meet on the top floor of the Norma Story Building
  • Youth (5th-12th) - Meet in the youth lounge on the 3rd floor above Wesley Hall.
  • Adults - We have many different classes you can attend! Find the class that's right for you at phumc.com/sundayschool

AFGHAN FAMILY UPDATE


As we look back on Thanksgiving 2022, The PHUMC Afghan Support Team wishes to express thanks.


First, and foremost, we are so grateful that the Sadiqis and 11 other Afghan families have escaped injury, imprisonment and/or death to enjoy freedom in Little Rock, AR. This is a miracle we had no part in yet daily rejoice in helping them in this new chapter of their lives. We are thankful for these 6 people adjusting to a new climate, language, education system and culture with such grace and joy....
