2024 Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) Now Available!

The Village of Lindenhurst is required to test the drinking water from our water system for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results from these tests are compiled annually into the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), which is intended to provide residents with important information on Lindenhurst's drinking water and the efforts made by the water system to provide safe drinking water.

To view the 2024 CCR report, please visit www.lindenhurstil.org/waterqualityreport. Please contact Village Hall at 847-356-8252 if you would like a paper copy of the report mailed to your home.

Scam Alert: Door to Door Sales Ruse

Last week, Lindenhurst Police responded to a reported driveway sealcoating scam. After completing the job, the suspects dramatically increased the price and quickly left when the homeowner became suspicious.

As summer brings more door-to-door activity—whether for home repairs, sales, or service inquiries—it’s important to stay cautious. Here are a few ways to protect yourself and your home:

  • Only open your door to people you know or those with a scheduled appointment
  • Pay attention to the solicitor’s vehicle, clothing, and identifying details
  • Keep your front door locked while speaking with someone outside
  • Ask for identification—legitimate workers will not object
  • Verify directly with the company or agency before letting anyone inside
  • If someone refuses to leave or makes you feel uncomfortable, call 911

Stay safe, stay informed, and help spread the word to friends and neighbors. For more information, visit www.lindenhurstil.org or contact the Lindenhurst Police Department at (847) 356-5400. No Solicitors Invited signs are also available for download from the Village website at www.lindenhurstil.org/documents.

Summer Road Safety Tips

As the weather continues to warm up, more people are taking to the roads—whether by car, bicycle, or motorcycle. With increased activity comes the need for increased awareness.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert for cyclists and motorcyclists, especially at intersections and when changing lanes. Always give them plenty of space, obey speed limits, and avoid distractions behind the wheel.

Cyclists and motorcyclists should wear proper protective gear, use lights and reflectors, and follow all traffic laws. Riding predictably and staying visible are key to reducing accidents.

Whether you’re behind the wheel or on two wheels, road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer for all.
