Silk Purse in Shelbyville is OPEN!!

Donations are flowing in and the community is HAPPY

We are thrilled to see the Silk Purse in Shelbyville finally open! We have already seen the impact our store has had on the community! Since opening June 16th, we have tracked 7,677 receipts! WOW! That is over 150 customer transactions a day!

Our clients from Family Life Center are so thankful to be able to use the client cash they have earned at the Silk Purse. They have cashed in over $2,500 in client cash for items like baby clothes, toys, furniture, household goods, etc for their families. Thanks to YOU, we have been able to provide this valuable service to the community AND our clients!

We are still seeking volunteers to assist our staff with stocking and sorting. Please stop by the store to learn how you, your church group, or organization can help!

Thank you to the Diocese of Springfield for their Rice Bowl Grant that allowed us to create a blessing box for the community! The box is located on the southwest side of the Silk Purse building in Effingham. We have been so blessed to have the community rally around this effort by helping keep the blessing box FULL!

If you would like to help out, here is a partial list of items accepted for the box

- Non Perishable Food Items (boxed pasta, canned fruits and veggies, canned meats, crackers, snacks)

- Personal Care & Hygiene Items (toilet paper, toothbrush, deodorant, body wash, feminine products)

- Baby Items (baby wipes, diapers, shampoo, body wash, canned baby food)

- Other Essentials (socks, hats, first aid kits, paper plates, utensils)

If the box is full, please drop the items at the Silk Purse. They will store them and fill as needed. Thank you again for helping make our Blessing Box a success! You are truly being the hands and feet of Jesus!

30th Annual Vision Dinner HUGE SUCCESS!

We are so thankful for the over 680 friends of Family Life Center who joined us September 11th for our Annual Vision Dinner. The evening was filled with laughter, conversation and a commitment to be Champions for Life!

Learn more about the evening in our upcoming newsletter in December.

Biking for Babies Rolls Into Town

Bikers and support staff donate to Family Life Center

Wisconsin Team

Ohio Team

Biking for Babies (BFB) rides across the Midwest each summer, raising funds for pro-life ministries nationwide. The Ohio team stopped at the Cross in Effingham, where our staff enjoyed meeting these dedicated missionaries - some seasoned cyclists, others brand new to the challenge - each with an inspiring “why” for riding.

We were blessed to again partner with Oscar Carlos, Jr. from the Wisconsin team, who served as team leader this year. Thank you, Oscar, and the entire Biking for Babies organization, for your commitment to life and support of Family Life Center.

Thank you for the "YES"

Speaking at churches and community events offers awareness

This year has brought us immense blessings as we've had the opportunity to share Family Life Center's mission with nearly 50 churches and community events. We must spread the word about the life-affirming services we provide to your communities.

If you're interested in having us share our ministry at your church, event or organization, contact one of our offices.

Local Pastors Share a Word of Encouragement

Devotions look a little different in a good way

Since January, eleven local pastors have blessed our staff by leading morning devotions on multiple occasions, sharing powerful words of encouragement. These moments have been a refreshing source of strength, reminding us that we are not alone in this mission. THANK YOU!

If your pastor would like to be part of this uplifting ministry, please contact your local office to be added to the schedule. Devotions are held Monday–Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
