New Share-It Emails for Member School Employees
edHEALTH is launching share-it emails to engage higher education employees in their healthcare benefits. These emails will include helpful tips for navigating and maximizing benefit programs. With a focus on improving care and reducing costs, these communications will be a useful resource for HR staff and your employees. Look for the first email next week. When you receive it, please share it by forwarding it to your employees.

Prevalence of Diabetes Growing:
Chronic, Costly, and Deadly Disease Takes Toll on Patients and Payers
If you attended edHEALTH’s Annual Meeting, you saw the visual impact of diabetes in the United States. The prevalence has skyrocketed between 1990s and today, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Today:
Diabetes prevalence: An estimated 30.3 million people have diabetes (9.4 percent of the U.S. population – an increase of 44% since 1998)
Prediabetes prevalence: An estimated84.1 million people (more than 1 out of 3 adults) have pre-diabetes: 9 out of 10 don’t know they have it.
Stability Health Diabetes Program Fee Waiver Ends Soon

If your school is not enrolled in Stability’s Health’s Diabetes Care Management program, there’s still time to take advantage of their special fee waiver offer. Stability Healthwill waive the $15 monthly per diabetes member per month monitoring feefor the life of the agreement for any school that signs up for Stability Health no later than the end of this year's Open Enrollment period.
This program is a win-win for your school, employees, and covered family members. The program:
Focuses on the growing population diagnosed with diabetes, a complex and costly chronic disease.
Supports participants through in-depth evaluation, individualized care plans, ongoing advice and encouragement, and intervention when needed.
Coordinates with primary care providers to facilitate timely intervention, enhance office visits, and decrease costs.

Wentworth Takes Home the Walking Challenge Prize
Cindy Bartelson, edHEALTH's Operations Manager, presents the Walking Challenge trophy to Margaret Card, WIT's HR Director.
This year’s “Walk This Way Walking Challenge” was an overwhelming success.
Fifteen member colleges and universities participated in the four-week challenge. Over 750 employees walked more than 200 million steps over the four-week period. Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) brought home the edHEALTH walking trophy and enjoyed an ice cream social for their winning scores.
