Belton is getting a new mural.

As part of the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Belton program, one of this year’s teams is leading an effort to bring a large-scale public mural to the exterior of the Belton Public Library in downtown Belton. The mural is intended to reflect the heart of our community and create a lasting visual landmark.

The mural will be professionally designed and painted by the muralist team Laced and Found and created specifically for Belton.

This is a fully community-funded project.

The team is currently raising $25,000 to cover artist fees, materials, equipment, and installation. The project has already received early community support, and the team is grateful for those who have stepped forward.

Those who would like to be part of this meaningful community initiative are invited to learn more.

More details are available at: https://beltonmural.com

Temple Civic Theatre presents: Rodgers & Hammerstein's ~ Oklahoma!

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, setting the standards and rules of modern musical theatre. In a Western territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful background for Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, to play out their love story. Their romantic journey, as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road, contrasts with the comic exploits of brazen Ado Annie and hapless Will Parker in a musical adventure embracing hope, determination and the promise of a new land.

The City of Temple is inviting community members to share their input on the future of the State Highway 317 corridor through a community survey.

State Highway 317 is an important corridor for connectivity and travel in Temple. The SH 317 Corridor Master Plan will help guide a long-term vision for the corridor and will consider topics like roadway access, signage, lighting, landscaping, and future development patterns. Community feedback will help guide the planning process and future decisions along the corridor.

The survey is available now through Monday, May 4. Learn more, take the survey, and view frequently asked questions at templetx.gov/317.
