Facility Update

We have contracted with First Security Service to install wireless smoke and heat detection throughout the building. Access control devices will also be installed on 3 doors: campus ministry center, fellowship hall, and the main level street door (on Green Street). A fob will be required to enter by these doors. If you currently use one of these doors and would like to be issued a fob, sign up here.

Farmers Market Success!

The first Grace Community Farmers Market was a success. About 200 neighbors gathered to meet old friends and make new ones while buying all kinds of farm-fresh foods. All six farmers were thrilled with the number of customers and how well they were welcomed. Each is excited to be back next month. (May 11, 1-4 pm)

In addition to supporting our farmers of color and engaging our neighbors, supporting Walltown was an important goal. . Only about $800 out of $2000 in vouchers provided to were used. We'll be studying how we can increase participation next time.

There are so many people to thank. The Racial Reconciliation group, along with Pastor Brooks, have been planning this event for months. All worked long and hard on market day, also. Pastor Amanda and the Duke Lutherans also volunteered, directing traffic, buying produce, and generally being friendly and welcoming to all of the visitors. Barb Tippin was generous with her time and artistic abilities. Sincere thanks the people of Grace for their prayers, kind words, and financial support for the market. More pictures here.
