For many people in the northern hemisphere, August means the heart of the summer is happening. For many people in Indiana, August means State Fair time, with delicious foods to be sampled and farm animals to be shown in competitions. But in Fishers, August means fall sports and a new season kicking off for Mudsock Youth Athletics.
There is something exciting about a new sports season and the new lessons to be learned and friends to be made. It’s so easy to get lost in the wins and losses that one can lose sight of how amazing it is for our participants to have the opportunity to play these sports so close to home.

Megan Campbell - Track & Field
Our June DICK'S Volunteer of the Month is our Track/XC president, Megan Campbell. To say that Megan wears a lot of hats would be an understatement. Families regularly hear from her with updates on the season, when to sign up for meets and good reminders throughout the year. But where Megan really excels is with people. She is a great recruiter in finding the best coaches and volunteers to exemplify the Fire program and she is always happy to chat with a new parent or answer questions before or after practice.

Kris Kleinbub - Football
Meet our July DICK’S Volunteer of the Month, Kris Kleinbub! Kris has been a constant in football, helping keep the program strong. As president, he handles the behind-the-scenes work, lines fields, coaches, supports parents and his board. Kris has also played a big role in growing girls flag football, helping introduce and build the program while keeping player safety at the forefront through USA Football guidelines. But what makes Kris such a special volunteer goes beyond football. He’s a true Mudsock team player, always willing to lend a hand, support another league and be part of what makes youth sports in our community so strong.
