RI PARITY LAUNCHES VIDEO SERIES Watch the RI Parity Initiative videos that feature need to know information, quick tips, and tools to help you get the coverage you need from your health insurer for mental health, including substance use disorder services and treatment. I f you are a RI Behavioral Health Provider, please complete our survey to help identify and support policy proposals to improve the system of coverage for behavioral health services. NAMI Rhode Island is now accepting registrations for its upcoming Family-to-Family class, being held VIRTUALLY! The course provides information and strategies for taking care of the person you love, and also will ensure you that you are not alone. Recovery is a journey and there is hope.  The course is an eight week commitment and will be delivered via Zoom. The teachers are family members who have been trained by NAMI RI in the evidence-based program curriculum and who have lived experience as well. There will also be a program "producer" present to help with any technical assistance needs the participants have in using the Zoom platform. You can access Zoom through a smartphone, tablet or computer, but the video component is required for this purpose.  To register, contact beth@namirhodeisland.org and provide your name, phone number and email address.

STAY TUNED! TELEHEALTH LEGISLATION COMING UP IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY STAY TUNED! Later this summer a bill will be making its way through the RI General Assembly that would require payers in the state to maintain coverage for telehealth services - including audio-only phone calls and care delivered to the patient's home. In order for this bill to pass it will need your support by speaking up for safe access to care. MHARI will be closely tracking this bill and will share information as it becomes available.
