SEC Lineworkers Win Big at
Gaff-n-Go Skills competition
Three Southside Electric Cooperative apprentice lineworkers grabbed first- and second-place honors in the Gaff-n-Go Lineworker Rodeo held May 13-14 near Richmond.
Competing against 74 other apprentices, Scott Geovannello, who works out of SEC’s Powhatan office, and Hunter Cline and Shane Baldwin, both out of the Altavista office, brought home top finishes. Geovannello placed second in the Overall Apprentice Winner category and first in CPR and AED exercises. Cline finished second in the Bell Insulator Change Out and second in the Climbing Skills Demonstration. Baldwin was the first-place winner in the Climbing Skills Demonstration.

Participating in the Gaff-n-Grill event was the team of SEC Apparatus Technicians, Bobby Moseley, Wayne Paulett, Andy Haynes and Blake Poindexter. In addition, Director of Safety Ian Hix, Director of Technical Services Joshua Wells and Line Technician Tommy Byrd served as judges for the Gaff-n-Go competition.
