A Note From The Executive Director | |
I’ve been around long enough to know February is the shortest month of the year but for some reason March sneaks up on me every year. We’ve had an incredible winter season with a record number of kids participating in boys basketball, girls basketball and esports. Our esports league had nearly one hundred kids and our intramural basketball league had over five hundred kids including two all-female teams for the first time ever. I couldn’t be prouder of the work that has been put into our winter season.

For first-year spring participants in the 8U, 10U, and 12U divisions, evaluations will occur on March 9th, 16th, and 23rd. If your child is in the 8U, 10U, or 12U divisions this spring and has not previously played in that division during a spring season, they must attend an evaluation. Recreational registration remains open with limited spaces available in all age groups. Once all remaining spaces are filled, you will be placed on a waitlist. Sign up at myathletics.com.
Recreational coach selections will be announced on March 1st with drafts taking place on March 2nd. Please note, there will be no drafts in the 5U - 8U divisions. On March 22nd, will we hold a mandatory coaches clinic which will also include equipment pickup for the season. Practices will begin the week of April 14th and our Opening Day Celebration takes place on April 19th.

Open to 5th - 8th graders, there are very limited spots available for our spring/summer league at myathletics.com.
NEW: The league will shift its focus from coach-led practices to instructor-driven skill clinics that will be held after school in May. In June, players will transition to a round-robin style league play with weekday evening games, culminating in an end of season tournament. Divisions will be based on skill level, so whether your child is new to the sport, or a seasoned player, game play will meet them where they’re at. Join us at the brand new 24/7 Dink indoor pickleball facility.

Our inaugural winter season of esports is moving into the second half!
10U & 12U gamers are gearing up for Splatoon, while our 14U players are diving into Fortnite. A huge shoutout to all the incredible volunteers making this season possible!

The final games for the K/1st grade division take place on March 1st. Our 2nd - 6th graders will kick off tournament play on March 1st with most of our championship games taking place the weekend of March 8th. The season ending tournament for our 7th/8th grade division will be held exclusively on March 1st.

Ryan Marando - Football
Shoutout to Coach Ryan Marando, our December DICK'S Sporting Goods Volunteer of the Month. A former IU player, Ryan prioritized safety, fun, and skill development, teaching proper techniques while instilling a love for the game. His nomination highlights included ensuring every player had a chance to shine, encouraging parents to celebrate all victories, not just the wins, and emphasizing teamwork and growth over the scoreboard. Ryan, you’ve set the bar high!
