Even though I'm a few days ahead, let me be the first to wish you a happy summer! After this week, it feels like someone forgot to tell mother nature we were still in spring. I keep finding myself humming "Summer in the City" as I walk between the fields and my car.

Championship games for our 8U - 12U divisions are underway! Our high school, 5U and 6U divisions have wrapped up play. Thank you to each of the players, families, coaches and umpires who helped make the spring season a success. Rec All-Star play will begin this week.

Fall soccer registration remains open for certain divisions for athletes in pre-kindergarten through high school at myathletics.com.
The coaches meeting will take place on August 6th. The season begins the week of August 8th and runs through October 8th for 3rd - 6th grade and October 1st for pre-k - 2nd grade. The 7th/8th grade and high school divisions will continue through October 31st. No games will take place on Labor Day Weekend.
We are gauging interest in a potential referee class offering for those 12 and older, including parents, to get more people certified! We want to develop a pool of referees we can count on for future seasons. Fill out the form and learn more here.

Co-ed field hockey registration remains open for athletes in 2nd - 11th grade at myathletics.com. The season will run from August 11th to October 9th at Holland Park. Learn more here.
Please note, we will be adding games against the field hockey league in Westfield this fall for more competitive play.

Recreational cheer registration remains open for kindergarteners - 6th graders at myathletics.com. Please note, athletes will cheer for our 4th, 5th and 6th grade tackle football divisions only. The first practice will be on August 4th. The Jamboree and picture day is tentatively scheduled for August 6th with regular season games beginning on August 13th.
Recreational uniform fittings will continue on June 20th and June 30th from 6-8 p.m. in the Billericay Community Room. Find the order link here.
We are looking for a handful of coaches to help this fall. Our coach clinic gives volunteers all the tools they need to teach cheers and support a squad! Email [email protected].

Girls volleyball registration remains open for certain divisions for athletes in 4th - 8th grade at myathletics.com.
The coaches meeting will take place on August 5th with Saturday practices on August 6th and August 13th. Weekday practices will begin August 15th and the tournament will be held October 6th - 8th.
Athletes are able to stop by the Mudsock Youth Athletics Office for uniform fittings M-TH between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. through June 23rd to try on jerseys. The office is located in Billericay Park at 12690 Promise Road.
Picture Day will take place August 27th at Riverside Intermediate.

Football registration remains open for athletes in certain divisions for flag football (kindergarten - 2nd grade), rookie tackle (3rd grade), modified tackle (4th grade), and tackle (5th and 6th grade) at myathletics.com.
Optional summer conditioning will continue twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 14th from 6:30-8:00 at Mudsock Fields. Tackle camp and evaluations (3rd - 6th) will begin the week of July 18th with the draft (3rd - 6th) taking place July 30th. Flag practices will begin the first week of August.
Equipment handouts will take place on June 29th and July 6th, 7th and 11th.
Please note, athletes participating in the flag league will receive equipment when their team begins practice.

High School Rugby Sevens registration remains open at myathletics.com. Offered to high school boys and girls. Rugby sevens is a variant of rugby union where teams are made up of seven players playing seven minute halves. Games will be on Sundays and the season runs from August to October.

Fall stick skills registration remains open for participants in 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U divisions at myathletics.com.
We will again hold our eight week sessions from August 14th - October 12th at Hamilton Proper Park on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Join Mudsock Girls Basketball on Wednesdays through July 20th for summer workouts. Offered to girls entering 3rd - 5th and 6th - 8th grade in the fall, build fundamentals through instruction from FHS and HSE coaches and players. No registration necessary. Cost is $5 per athlete at the door and all sessions will take place at Sand Creek Intermediate. Thank you for bringing your own ball. Learn more here.

Bill Jones - Softball
Our April Dick's Sporting Goods Volunteer of the Month truly hits it out of the park! As the commissioner for the Mudsock Youth Softball Rec All-Stars, Bill Jones oversees the communication, tryouts, and season logistics with passion and enthusiasm. Bill plays an integral role in helping rec players transition to a higher level, and growing the program to now include two tryout periods throughout the year.

Courtney Lawhead - Rugby
Our May Dick's Sporting Goods Volunteer of the Month might be Wonder Woman. Courtney Lawhead is a former league president who lends her years of experience to the rugby board as an at large member. She helped spearhead the concession stand re-opening this year and also helped prepare the league to host the Semi-State. Courtney is a doer and the rugby league is lucky to have her.
