If 2020 was the longest year ever, 2021 has to be one of the shortest years ever. You blinked and the kids were already back in school for a couple weeks now.
It’s been awhile since I’ve updated you on some of our projects we’ve been working on, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to bring you up to speed.

Registration for our recreational basketball program is officially open with waitlists forming after August 31st. Register now at myathletics.com.
The league welcomes athletes in kindergarten through 8th grade and runs from November through early March.

HSE travel tryouts for 7th - 8th grade took place earlier this month. 4th - 6th grade will be on August 24th-25th and 3rd grade on September 8th. Fishers travel tryouts will take place on September 14th and 16th for 3rd - 8th grade. All athletes must be registered to attend tryouts at myathletics.com. Learn more here.

We kicked off our season on August 7th with our annual Jamboree and picture day. Thank you to everyone for making it a success. Games will continue for both our flag and tackle divisions with rec league championship games wrapping up on October 3rd.
We appreciate your help in making this season the best possible experience for each of our players. As a reminder, your coach is a volunteer, the officials are more interested in teaching your child than calling a penalty, and at the end of the day we are here to help players learn the game of football.

Thank you to the great group of coaches who attended our meeting in the beginning of August to prepare for our season.
Games begin today at Cyntheanne, Cumberland Park and Lantern Road. Our volunteer board has worked overtime and we were thrilled to welcome a record number of participants for the Mudsock Youth Soccer fall season. This includes our NEW co-ed high school division, which has joined our 7th/8th rec plus division, competing in the NCRSL league.
Picture day will take place on September 11th and 12th during our double header soccer weekend.

The fall recreational baseball season is underway for 1st - 9th graders with double headers beginning this Sunday at Billericay Park. The closing tournament is scheduled to begin on October 6th and championship games will be played on the 13th.
2021-2022 Fishers Express Travel Tryouts have been completed for the 8U - 14U divisions. Information over 7U tryouts will be released soon.

A big thank you to the Fishers and HSE high school cheerleaders that joined us last week to spend time with our athletes. Practices continue on Thursdays and all new uniforms ordered have been distributed to participants.
We are excited to have 20 squads this season cheering for 4th-6th grade tackle football teams. We'd like to send a shout out to all of our volunteer coaches who are helping make the season a success.

The cross country season kicks off on September 11th at Riverside Intermediate/Junior High School. We will host a parent meeting on this date at 10:15 a.m. during the first practice.
Athletes new to the program who didn't order a uniform for track season can order through the site here. Please note, uniforms will also be available to try on during the first practice on September 11th.

The field hockey season kicked off on August 11th and will run through October 9th at Holland Park. New this season, we were excited to grow the league, which is now co-ed, welcoming both girls and boys to the sport.
Mudsock Field Hockey offers opportunities to compete at beginner and advanced levels for participants in 1st through 11th grade.

New this year, our 8-week stick skills and training program began on August 15th and runs through October 6th on Sundays and Wednesdays at Hamilton Proper Park. This is an off-season offering for 8U - 14U divisions.

We are now in our 16th season of youth volleyball for girls. Weekday practices are underway and our first games kick off today for each of our 4th - 8th grade teams. All play is taking place at intermediate/junior high schools within the district. The end of season tournament is scheduled for October 7th,8th and 9th.

Everyone plays. Mudsock Youth Athletics offers full and partial registration scholarship opportunities to children who qualify for free or reduced lunch within the Hamilton Southeastern School District.
Families must apply and be accepted during our open registration period.

Aubree Kirkes - Girls Lacrosse
If you see Aubree Kirkes, our June Dick's Sporting Goods Volunteer of the Month, give her a high five! A fabulous mentor within the Mudsock Girls Lacrosse league, she stepped up to coach a team who needed her while being very pregnant and rocking it with a positive attitude.
