How to Train Words When Using Dragon Medical Speech Recognition Software
When dictating patient notes using Dragon Medical software, how do you correct a misspelled name once it has been spoken? Follow the steps below to correct the word so that once you say it again, Dragon knows to match it up to your voice.

Correcting a misspelled word can be done by voice training the word. Through the main menu button on the Dragon bar, you will see a Manage Vocabulary section. From that section, you can add any custom names by clicking on the plus sign (+) at the top of the window that appears. You can then type any name you would like to train with the correct spelling and capitalization you require. Once the word is typed in, training the pronunciation to your voice is the final step.
 
This final step does not require any buttons to be pressed on the handheld PowerMic as all you need to do is click the red microphone icon that appears within the Manage Vocabulary window. Once the red microphone icon is clicked, it will turn green. At that point, say the name out loud in your normal tone and speed.

Once finished, click the confirm button that appears to finalize the vocabulary addition.
