Axon 2024 Brings Huge Crowd Together for Healthcare Networking Event

Axon 2024, a unique networking opportunity for the healthcare sector, took place on April 4th at Bell Works in Holmdel, New Jersey.


Several hundred industry leaders and decision makers including influential healthcare group operators and top executives, vendors and business owners, and representatives from leading non-profits, agencies and hospital groups packed the elegantly decorated hall for a highly enjoyable evening of friendly and constructive conversation, delicious food and great music. Axon benefited the work of BINA with close to a hundred Corporate Sponsors showing their support for BINA’s important mission and services.


A pre-event VIP reception was an exclusive opportunity for vendors and service providers to meet with key operators and decision makers from leading healthcare groups.


The crowd lingered long past the closing time to continue connecting and chatting with old and new friends and take every advantage of every invaluable networking encounter. The positive feedback was overwhelming, and all agreed that Axon is an event that is not to be missed in support of a most worthy cause.

BINA Participates in Brain Injury Conferences

It is critical that BINA's professional staff stay abreast of the latest developments and cutting-edge research in the world of brain injury. A key component of that goal is participation in national and international conferences on brain injury, stroke and spinal injury.


Among the conferences we recently attended were the NYU Concussion Conference, held remotely, and live participation at the ABI2024NABIS Conference on Brain Injury in Las Vegas, Nevada and the International Stroke Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.


The conferences were important opportunities to learn, network, share and introduce BINA to new experts in a variety of fields.

Webinar on Concussion Presented by Top Expert

As part of BINA's webinar series on educational topics for the community at large, we recently presented an informative event on the topic of series of webinars has been hosted by BINA for the community at large, presented by leading specialists in a variety of fields.


The most recent webinar took place on January 17th, presented by renowned brain injury and concussion expert Dr. Nathan Zasler on the topic "Concussive Brain Injury: Clinical Caveats and Interventions to Optimize Outcome." Dr. Zasler is founder and CEO of the Concussion Care Centre of Virginia; Medical Director, Tree of Life; and Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.


Dr. Zasler took questions from participants following a fascinating overview on concussion diagnosis and treatment. A recording of the webinar is available here).


Past topics have included Brain Injury and Vision, CVI in Children, Return to Driving after a Neurological Injury or Illness, Estate Planning, A Comprehensive Overview of Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Pediatric Upper Limb Rehabilitation, Integrative Rehab, Coping with Change Following a Brain Injury, Cognition in Pediatric Brain Injury, and long-Covid recovery.


BINA also collaborated with Olivia Lambert, DaiWai Olson, and the team at University of Texas Southwestern to produce educational videos on the topics of "Welcome to the ICU" and "Overview of ICP (Increased Intracranial Pressure)".

Monthly Brain Injury Education Orientation on Zoom

BINA is pleased to offer a monthly Zoom meeting for families recently affected by a stroke, TBI or spinal injury. The meeting takes place on the first Wednesday of every month and is hosted by Elchanan Schwarz LMHC, BINA's Director of Crisis Intervention and Crisis Support.


The meeting provides an educational overview of brain injury and what to expect during the recovery and rehabilitation process. A Q&A will follow the presentation.


Registration is required; all close family members (18 and up) are welcome.

Real Estate Industry Supports BINA

The real estate industry will turn out in force to support BINA on Thursday, May 30th at the Bison and Bourbon steakhouse in Brooklyn for "Get Real for BINA", an evening of networking for top owners and investors. Support Groups for Survivors and Caregivers

BINA continues to host support groups for brain injury survivors and for caregivers including spouses and parents. Groups are held via Zoom, allowing participation from any location, and are a valuable source of professional counseling, peer support and information-sharing.


Participants report that they have benefited immensely and feel greatly supported and heard by the facilitators and fellow group members.
