Burg Simpson Attorneys Win Second Appeal to Protect $7.3 Million Verdict in a Traumatic Brain Injury Case
In a case that began in 2008, Burg Simpson shareholders David Hersh and Steven Greenlee proved that the U.S. Air Force Academy was responsible for the catastrophic and life-changing injuries of the plaintiff. The Court affirmed the multi-million dollar award, and determined that the “willful conduct” exception to the Colorado Recreational Use Statute prevented the United States from claiming immunity from suit. The Denver Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation, in partnership with the Denver Fire Department Foundation and Nick Fogel with Burg Simpson, is pleased to have established the inaugural Denver Fire Scholarship awards. These organizations award two $1,500 scholarships to two qualifying students who are the children of an active Denver firefighter.
