Burg Simpson shareholders Michael S. Burg, David K. TeSelle, Holly B. Kammerer ,and their team, recently brought justice for their clients when a Maricopa County Superior Court jury found in favor of the plaintiffs. Ten of 21 plaintiffs who sued a now-shuttered Phoenix body donation company will be awarded $58.5 million.
This case involved a black market industry that profited by selling and trafficking human body parts. Burg Simpson filed a claim against the owners of the Biological Resource Center for mishandling remains of donated bodies, and the companies who were accused of buying body parts from them.
Trail lawyer Michael Burg, the firm’s founder, says, “The selling of human remains is an underground industry that most people don’t know about. These funeral homes defrauded grieving families by obtaining the remains of their loved ones and then selling body parts on the black market. It was an honor to help bring an element of closure to the families who have suffered from the horrific actions of these individuals." Read more here.

"By law, bicycles are vehicles and they have the same rights and responsibilities as motorized vehicles when on our roadways. As more and more Americans are biking to commute, for exercise, and just for fun, it is important for cyclists and motorists to focus on making safe choices to help reduce deaths and injuries when sharing the road."
