Burg Simpson Investigating Claims
by Cancer Patients Who Took Belviq
Burg Simpson is currently investigating claims by patients diagnosed with cancer after the patients ingested the appetite-reducing drug Belviq (lorcaserin) prescribed by their physicians. Last year, the FDA recalled Belviq after a multi-year analysis determined that patients who took the drug had an elevated risk of cancer. Following the research, the FDA stated that “the risks of lorcaserin outweigh its benefits." If you, or someone you know, were diagnosed with cancer after taking the prescription drug Belviq, you may be entitled to substantial money damages.

Proceeds from the 2021 virtual PUSH Gala will fund Craig's unique culture of care programs like Therapeutic Recreation, Adaptive Technology, Music Therapy, Community Reintegration, and education programs – which are not generally covered by insurance. PUSH funds also support research, including ongoing studies and clinical trials aimed at improving outcomes, reducing long-term complications, and enhancing the quality of life for those affected by spinal cord and traumatic brain injury.

Peter Burg is a past Chairman of Craig Hospital’s Operating Board of Directors and served on both the Craig Hospital Operating Board and the Craig Hospital Foundation Board for over a decade. Craig Rehabilitation Hospital is one of the country’s top facilities for traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury research and treatment and provides a comprehensive system of inpatient and outpatient medical care and long-term follow-up services.
