Burg Simpson Represents
Teen Victims in Arizona Child Abuse Case
A team of attorneys at Burg Simpson is representing four teens who are named as victims in a child abuse case filed in Arizona. The victims allege they were subjected to aggravated assault and sexual abuse after being placed by the State of Arizona with adoptive parents who were state government employees.
Calling the home “a house of horrors,” the claim alleges the teen's adoptive parents took “immense delight in demonstrating to the Children the power they both wielded as government agents” who could abuse the children “with absolutely no repercussions.” The claim also points to a possible motive for the parents’ actions – the $700 of state funds they received per month per child due to the children’s alleged special needs.
Burg Simpson is dedicated to representing these four children who were placed in an unsafe environment and victimized by the lack of responsibility of the State of Arizona and its various contractors.

Colorado Supreme Court
to Hear Hospital Lien Case
The Colorado Supreme Court recently announced it will weigh in on whether hospitals must first bill Medicare before filing a lien against an accident victim who has other coverage.
Trial lawyer Nelson Boyle of Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine stated that "The state’s hospital lien statute and federal law would only conflict if hospitals were required to file liens. The purpose of the hospital lien statute has always been to preserve ‘reasonable and necessary’ payments to hospitals."
Trial lawyer Nelson Boyle focuses his civil litigation practice on appeals, business, insurance bad faith, and personal injury litigation. Mr. Boyle Chairs the Judicial Performance Commission for Colorado’s Second Judicial District and serves as a member of the Amicus Curiae Committee of the American Association for Justice.
