Stephen J. Burg is a shareholder and trial attorney with Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine. As the Practice Group Leader of the Personal Injury Department, Stephen is focused on representing victims of automobile and motorcycle crashes, trucking accidents, product liability injuries, gas explosions, and harmful drugs and medical devices.

At Burg Simpson, we recognize the importance of a good education, so in 2012, we launched the Burg Simpson Scholarship Competition. Each year, we encourage Colorado high school seniors from across the state to write a 1,500-word essay about the importance of the civil jury system as the guardian of American rights and liberties. Partnering with the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), the firm has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to college-bound students.

In a recent video, Burg Simpson shareholder David P. Hersh introduces various methods of legal dispute resolution. These processes fall into two major categories:

  1. Litigation and arbitration fall into the adjudicative process, in which a judge, jury, or arbitrator determines the outcome of the matter.
  2. Mediation and negotiation fall into the consensual processes in which the parties attempt to reach an agreement.
Dave Hersh is the Co-Practice Group Leader of Burg Simpson's Commercial Litigation Department. The Virtual Spring Event
Burg Simpson shareholder Seth A. Katz is scheduled to speak at the virtual spring session of the MASS TORTS MADE PERFECT (MTMP) conference on Wednesday, April 14th. Mr. Katz is the Practice Group Leader of the Firm's Mass Tort Department. MTMP hosts the bi-annual conferences in the spring and fall of each year and presents webinars throughout the year. All programs are designed for individuals working in the area of plaintiff mass torts and class actions.
Seth Katz’s practice involves primarily complex and class action litigation on behalf of aggrieved consumers, corporate shareholders, and property owners, and pharmaceutical mass tort litigation on behalf of those injured as a result of their ingestion of prescription medications and the implantation of medical devices. In addition to his varied professional experience, Mr. Katz is a frequent speaker on electronic discovery, class actions, and pharmaceutical litigation.
