Happy June! I had to get this newsletter out a few days early since my first big show of the year is Art in the Park in Westminster, MD City Hall Park on June 2, 10 AM - 4 PM. The free art show is sponsored by the Carroll County Arts Center. I think this is my 13th year showing my work there--always a good show for me. I'll have new works, older works, and lots of handprinted woodcut T-shirts. Check out my brand new floorcloth --photo below. (I also will have about 13 hand-printed "Today I will Create" T-shirts available.
at Art in the Park 2011. This year, Kara will be my assistant.
Just Off the Easel...
Just completed, in time for Art in the Park, a new floorcloth:
5 Painted Turtles Floorcloth 26" x 36" $350
Remember, floorcloths are made to be walked on. This floorcloth has a non-slip back, and five coats of non-yellowing protective finish.
Interesting Projects of May...
I have to say, May was an amazingly busy month for me in the studio. Most interesting, I was contacted by an artist in Los Angeles and asked to graph a design of hers and hand knot a rya rug for her. It will be used in a tribute exhibition for an artist in her community who recently passed away. I'll be posting pictures as the design develops. She and I will be skyping regularly. (Yes, I'm getting a skype camera!)
I just completed two dog portrait glasses I'd like to share with you here. My friend, Melissa commissioned me to paint them as an anniversary gift for her husband and herself.
