You May be Liable for "Nanny Tax" for All Types of Domestic Workers

You’ve probably heard of the “nanny tax.” But even if you don’t employ a nanny, it may apply to you. Hiring a house cleaner, gardener, or other household employee (who isn’t an independent contractor) may make you liable for federal income and other taxes. You may also have state tax obligations.

Congratulations!

On Thursday, November 10th, the team surprised Kristine at her desk with a cake and a gift after the birth of her first grandchild!

Kristine’s son and daughter-in-law welcomed their son earlier in the week. She was overjoyed – and we celebrated the wonderful news with a beautiful picture frame for her desk and a delicious cake.

Kristine is our Manager of First Impressions. And we couldn’t be happier for her!

Firm Fun!

On Monday, October 31st, the Social Committee held a Halloween Costume Contest!

The winners were:

Most Original Costume – Diane (The Queen)
Funniest Costume – Kim (“Kevin” Bacon)
Scariest Costume – Samantha (Georgie from “IT”)

The winners each received a $25 VISA gift card.

In her email to the team, Diane thanked everyone who participated for their creative costumes and everyone who brought in the yummy Halloween treats for the team to enjoy!

Giving Back!

From September 22nd through October 31st, we held our Annual Clothing Drive – another Fall edition. Everyone was asked to bring in their gently worn clothing. It was a success, as usual!

This year, 218 pounds of clothing was collected! Kathie and Danielle dropped off the bags at The Clothing Bank of Delaware in Wilmington on Tuesday, November 15th.
