There's a Deduction for Student Loan Interest...But Do You Qualify for It?
If you’re paying back college loans for yourself or your children, you may wonder if you can deduct the interest you pay on the loans. The answer is yes, subject to certain limits. The maximum amount of student loan interest you can deduct each year is $2,500. Unfortunately, the deduction is phased out if your adjusted gross income exceeds certain levels, and as explained in our latest tax alert, the levels aren’t very high.

On January 5th, we celebrated Keith Delaney's 7th anniversary with our firm! Keith performs a variety of auditing and accounting, tax, and business advisory services. He successfully completed the certification process with the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts to earn the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation in July 2018.
We are so fortunate to have Keith on our team!
On January 7th, we celebrated Tara Bolinski's 3rd anniversary with our firm! Tara is a Senior Trust Administrator in the Personal Trust Services Division (Pinion Delaware). She has been an integral part of the Trust Division's success. We are so glad Tara is a part of our team!
During our quarterly Team Meeting on Monday, January 10th, we celebrated Bob Smith’s 10th anniversary with the firm. Bob joined Santora CPA Group on Monday, January 9, 2012. He is the lead director in charge of the firm’s Tax Services Division. Bob has over three decades of experience managing and providing tax, accounting, and consulting services to businesses, families, nonprofits, trusts, and special purpose entities. We are so fortunate to have him on our team, and we thank him for his hard work and dedication, especially helping to make our Tax Services Division the best in Delaware! And he makes a mean chili too!
