If you’re buying a home or you just bought one, you may wonder if you can deduct mortgage points paid on your behalf by the seller. The answer is “yes,” subject to some important limitations described below.

Happy 35th Anniversary, Linda!

Linda joined SCG on October 1, 1987 as Firm Administrator. Soon, she discovered a passion for Human Resources and helping companies with all types of people challenges. This led her to start SCG’s HR Consulting Division. She was named a Principal at SCG in July 2005.

In 2006, Linda joined a passionate group of Wilmington runners to start Girls on the Run Delaware. She serves as its Treasurer and is a member of the Board of Directors.

In his announcement to the team, Heath Kahrs, our Managing Director, thanked Linda for her dedication to SCG and her unwavering commitment during her 35 years to always coming up with creative and innovative ideas for making our team stronger and SCG successful year after year!

Every employee knows that SCG would not be the fun, family-oriented, profitable, and best CPA firm in Delaware that it is today without her guidance, leadership, dedication, and loyalty!

On Friday, September 9th, the Social Committee held our annual Tailgate Happy Hour in celebration of the upcoming NFL season! Everyone enjoyed the delicious food from The Greene Turtle, Potstickers Asian Grill, and Janssen’s Market.

We even got to wear apparel from our favorite sports teams!

Phillie Phanatics!

On Sunday, July 24th, Tara Bolinski took her husband and son to watch the Phillies vs. the Chicago Cubs. It was a crazy, hot day, but they got to spend some time in “The Yard,” which offered some much-needed shade and a kid-favorite hot dog launcher. Unfortunately, the Phillies lost by a score of 4-3.

On Sunday, August 21st, Tara took her husband, son, and father-in-law to watch the Phillies vs. the New York Mets. It was another hot one, but the rain helped to cool everyone down…just a bit. Tara’s father-in-law is a Mets fan, so the back forth of the game was extra exciting. In the end, the Mets won by a score of 10-9.
