"The Power of Patience and Perseverance
in a Culture of White Privilege"
Guest Speaker: Rev. Ron Ballew
Worship Leader: Kathy White

In this Advent season where longing rises from stillness and courage, where do African Americans stand in their long wait for Racial Justice? How has white privilege contributed to African Americans feeling they are still fighting the Civil War on some level? The battle they are engaged in is not going to end because of a presidential election, but only when people’s minds and hearts unite in a spirit of justice, harmony, equity, and genuine love and acceptance.

"Coming of Age"

Our resilient youth celebrate their passage from childhood to adolescence today by sharing their statements of faith with our full community. With guidance from a Council of Elders, these young people have looked deeply at many aspects of their faith. This morning they lead us in worship and honor this transition in personal development and self-identity.
