The Soul of America: An Election Sermon

Both presidential candidates say they are fighting to save the soul of America. But what is that soul, and what kind of shape is it in? Does it need saving?

The Election Sermon is a time-honored UU tradition - this year, expect to find challenge and comfort and thoughts about moving forward with "soul," no matter who gets elected.

UU TRUNK-or-TREAT
Sunday, Nov 1 at 12 pm

All ghosts and goblins are invited by UUCW and First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee to UU Trunk-or-Treat held outdoors in UUCW's spacious west parking lot.

This free event offers a safe Trick-or-Treat environment with plenty of fun! Costumed hosts will offer contact-free treats. Prizes will be awarded to most creative costume and the most unique decorated vehicle! Masks and social distancing will be required.

Trick-or-Treaters do not have to RSVP but are asked to donate a non-perishable food item. Vehicle hosts need to register in advance.

It's time to register to bid at the LEAP! Auction. More than 60 bidders have already purchased their tickets for this great online event!

If you register by Nov. 5th - you'll receive a delicious Snack Pack crafted by Chef Leslie Peterson and her crew (includes beverage). Tickets can be purchased later but will not include the snack pack.

UUCW Grounds Cleanup
Saturday, November 7
12 - 2 pm

Here’s an opportunity to get outside and help prepare the church property for the winter season. Tasks include clearing plant debris, laying mulch, and picking up sticks. Tools are available, but anyone is welcome to bring their own. Tools needed may include work gloves, rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, pruning shears, and leaf blowers. Social distancing and face masks will be required. Contact Almuth Soffee for more information.

The Ordination of
Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson

After serving our UU faith in numerous professional capacities, UUCW's own Intern Minister Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson was ordained as Minister of Religious Education on October 18th. The ceremony was held at First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee.

Rev. Suzelle gave the Collegial Welcome at this special service and presented Kimberlee with the turtle stole that was created with help from UUCW Members and Friends.

Chances are good that November 4th will not bring certainty about the presidential election, nor anything else in our cities, towns, state and nation. We gather today in the midst of it all, waiting and not waiting for what comes next.
