Rays of HOPE after the storm

Rays Baseball Foundation supports Hurricane Ian relief.

The Rays Baseball Foundation, the official charity of the Tampa Bay Rays, has been a long-time supporter of United Way of Charlotte County (UWCC) and our community in general, for which I have always been grateful. However, the Foundation threw me a curveball in their rapid response to the overwhelming needs in Charlotte County immediately following the hurricane.

Aid for Grove City Manor!

Grove City Manor senior citizens in Englewood, Florida lost everything due to Hurricane Ian in September of 2022.

United Way of Charlotte County is happy to partner with Senior Friendship Centers on this homecoming project. David Maselli states, “So far, nearly half of the 101 misplaced residents have begun their return back home. There is so much excitement as these folks were relocated outside of Charlotte County. The big commodity is pillows and household basics. They are looking forward to new pillows. It really makes me put things into perspective. Waiting in traffic is not as much of an inconvenience as not having a home is. We’re happy to see the residents moving back home.”

100% of all proceeds will go to Grove City Manor residents. Click here to help. To read the column in the Charlotte Sun, click here.

Dillard's Grand Celebration

Following damage by Hurricane Ian, Dillard"s celebrated a grand opening and four days of giving back with the community. The event included a ribbon cutting, giveaways, fashion shows and contests.

We were the lucky recipients to receive 10% of sales on April 20. We are grateful to welcome back Dillard's Port Charlotte and to participate in the exciting event.
