March Birthday at Hillside

Vickie Seng (03/15)

A Wartime Prayer

by Pastor Rob

When Jesus walked the earth (approximately 6BC – 30AD), God in human flesh, one empire was more powerful than the rest and imposed its will on other nations, disregarding their sovereignty. That was Rome. The country that does that today, the 21st century equivalent of the Roman Empire, is the United States of America. The U.S.A forced a regime change in Venezuela in January of this year, now in March, the U.S.A is in the process of doing it again, this time in Iran. The United States can do this because it is bigger and stronger than other nations.

Food Pantry Updates:

Exciting News from the Food Pantry!

Base molding will be installed in both the small pantry and the downstairs main room this month as we prepare for the arrival of our new walk-in cooler and freezer. Once the town approves our permits, these units will be installed in the downstairs main room.

Thanks to a grant from Feeding America and the generous donations from friends of the pantry, we were able to make this important purchase. A HUGE thank you to everyone who contributed to make this possible!

Your generosity is helping us streamline our process and move from seven separate freezers to one! This will make a tremendous difference in the amount of frozen goods we can store and how we serve our community.

Cars at food distribution

Our next Food Distributions will be March 7th & March 21st at our usual time from 11am-noon

HELP KEEP IT GOING!

  • Volunteer for one or more of the drive-through food distributions. Many opportunities are available.
  • Donate groceries. We are collecting dry and canned goods. Go to the church website for a more detailed list. Please check the ’sell by’ dates when donating. There is a collection bin outside the church entryway where you can leave your donations.

To volunteer, please use our online Community Sign Up Genius Form. If you have any questions, please contact Candy or Diane.

It's a Bird! It's a Plane! No. It's Hillside's New HVAC unit!

On February 25th one of the church's HVAC units was replaced. It was quite a production, complete with a crane hoisting the unit onto the roof of the church!

A huge thank you to the Deacons, John Roberts and Dina Sit for their work to ensure heat has been restored to those areas serviced by this unit.
