"The Fruit of the Spirit is ... Kindness" From Pastor Rob

Turn to Galatians 5:22. It speaks of the fruit of the Spirit, that is, what the Holy Spirit produces in followers of Jesus. One of the attributes that signals that the Spirit is at work in a person is kindness. In an America where election results are denied for no reason other than disappointment, where science is ignored and mocked, where opinions are so polarized there is no middle ground or nuanced thought, and where churches are emptier each week, I received kindness from strangers, and love in its fullest extent from my most intimate of relations.

Next Food Distribution - November 5 & 19 from 11am to 12pm

Our next Food Distributions will be November 5 & 19 at our usual time from 11am to 12pm.

HELP KEEP IT GOING!
  • Volunteer for one or more of the drive-through food distributions. Many opportunities are available.
  • Donate groceries, we are collecting dry and canned goods. Go to the church website for a more detailed list. Please check the ’sell by’ dates when donating. There is a collection shed outside the church entryway where you can leave your donations.

Blood Drive - Saturday, November 12 from 10am to 2pm
Blood Connection Bus
Donate blood! Save lives! Help our community by donating this month. One donation can help up to 3 people! The Blood Connection mobile unit is returning to our upper parking lot from 10am to 2pm on November 12th. All donors will receive an e-gift card.
Prescheduling is encouraged. Go to the Blood Connection website or contact the church office.
Budget Discussion - Wednesday, November 16 - 7pm Zoom meeting
The church leadership has been preparing the 2023 buget for congregational approval. We will be having a discussion of the proposed budget via Zoom on November 16th. All are encouraged to attend. This meeting will give you an opportunity to hear the highlights of the 2023 church budget and to ask questions. This will be the only planned discussion of the budget. A Zoom invitation will be sent out via email the week of the meeting. Final approval of the budget will be done at the annual meeting on Sunday, December 4th.
Church Annual Meeting & Christmas Luncheon
Sunday, December 4th, following worship service
Nutcracker Decorations
The annual church business meeting will be held immediately following the worship service on Sunday, December 4th. All members are encouraged to attend to approve the 2023 budget and affirm new Deacon nominees. After the meeting, we will gather for the annual Christmas Luncheon. Bring a dish to share and stay to enjoy this special fellowship meal with the Hillside church family. Stay tuned for more details.
