Summer Small Groups on Discipleship

I will offer these, and if a minimum of 4 participants sign-up, I will host each group. I welcome shared leadership, if anyone wants to co-host. The goal is to continue developing discipleship as a top priority in our church. If you are interested in participating in one or both groups please click on the link below or call the church office at (919) 967-3056 to indicate your interest. Please respond by June 22nd.

Communion and Potluck

Don't forget this Sunday, June 8th we will observe Communion. We will enjoy a potluck lunch after the service. Please plan to join us!

Eagle Scout Project

You may have noticed a small shed like building at the bottom of our parking lot. No, it is not a phone booth or primitive outdoor plumbing. Thanks to Eagle Scout, Brandon Cubell, we have a new Library and Food Pantry. The shelves in the shed hold books - anyone is free to take a book or share a book. The lower part of the shed contains non-perishable goods that are free for anyone to take. The shed is only for giving out food, not for collection. The Scouts have agreed to maintain the Library while our church Food Pantry ministry will provide the food. We appreciate Troop 45's addition to our community efforts.

Elder Election

Elder election is now complete. Beth Roberts has been elected and agreed to serve on the elder board for a 3-year term.

Elders rotating off the board are Starlyn Combs and Nooshin Ghazi-Moghaddam.

Thank you for serving the Lord and Hillside Church!

"Always give yourselves fully to the work of Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Mortgage Paydown Is A Success!

Thank you to all who participated in the Mortgage Paydown promotion during the Lenten/Easter season. Twenty different generous households participated and around twelve birdhouses were given away! We raised a total of $83,945 that reduced our mortgage principal balance down to $241,671! This is an amazing feat and far exceeds the amount the Deacons anticipated. Though the promotion is over, please feel free to continue giving towards the mortgage by designating your offering 'mortgage'. If anyone still wants a birdhouse, tell Karen in the church office!
