Follow Jesus, Love Others, Share Hope
From Pastor Rob
pen writing letter
In this month’s newsletter, you’ll see several opportunities for ministry. The bottom line is, our church needs our members to be actively involved in ministry’s that will engage people at all ages. If we want our church to grow, we need to offer ministries that meet people’s needs and do them well. To do ministry well, we need all our people to be fully committed to participation and excellence.

We have new opportunities with the Racial Manners Team (dedicated to loving neighbors across cultural/ethnic divides), and the R.E.A.C.H Team (dedicated to outreach). We need a volunteer to be the point-person of our Welcome Team. We have signed up with CWS (Church World Services) to be matched with an Afghan refugee family. When matched, we will coordinate the furnishing of their apartment and help them adjust to life in NC. We need a coordinator for this effort

Loving All Our Neighbors
As a part of his Great Commandment, Jesus tells us we must love our neighbors. We know ethnic, racial, socio-economic, and cultural differences sometimes complicate our efforts to love our neighbors. To empower our church in the effort to love all of our neighbors of all backgrounds, we are putting together a Racial Manners team. This team will take the Intercultural Development Index, go through training, and then share the learnings through testimonies on Sunday mornings and in other church contexts. We invite you to be part of this team. The long-term goal is that our entire church go through this process because we want to see everyone in the church family fully invested in loving our neighbors. We'd like you to be part of the initial effort. Please contact Pastor Rob to let him know your interest in being on this team.
