A SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE FOR 2020 from Pastor Rob
RENOUNCE WORRY
don't worry
“It’s a problem-free phil-o-so-phy …”! Disney fans know this! “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King . It’s a wonderful song, and it may even help me remember the spiritual discipline I am undertaking (and really have been committing to for about 3 months now). ‘Hakuna Matata’ can work as a mnemonic as long as I also remember that I am not actually committing to a “worry-free philosophy.” Such a way of seeing isn’t really possible, I don’t believe.
When I talk about seeing and living worry-free, I am talking about a spiritual discipline rooted in the way of Jesus. “Do not worry about your life. Do not worry about tomorrow” (Matthew 6:25a, 34a). Rather, “strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness” (v.33).

REIMAGINING EVANGELISM (RE)
February 22, 10AM-3PM, Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St, Winston-Salem
Comic look at evangelism
Does the idea of evangelism excite you or make you squirm? Does the Good News actually sound like good news anymore? In an increasingly post-Christian culture, how do we invite our neighbors to experience the way, the truth and the life of Jesus? RE gatherings are for people who sense the need for a new culture of Christian witness more than another new curriculum.
Join Dr. Steven Porter as he leads an RE gathering on February 22 in Winston-Salem. Beginning with Re-Imagining the end of evangelism as we have known it, participants are invited to a fresh reading of Scripture and ways of viewing the Mission of God in their church. Ministers and lay leaders will be inspired to be more engaged and loving communities as they share the Good News.

John and Beth Roberts are attending and are happy to carpool. To register, sign up here.
