The building and fire prevention/safety departments in Southern Nevada remain closed during the COVID-19 virus shutdown in an effort to protect public and employee health.
Meanwhile, many code professionals continue to accomplish their important duties by working from home or from their vehicles in the field.
The International Code Council offers a free webinar series and how-to documents for building and fire departments to transition to a virtual work environment. Click here for more information.

Both veterans, pictured above with SN-ICC and ICC leaders, are pursuing careers in building safety. The Chapter salutes these veterans for their service to our country and welcomes them to the code profession.

INDUSTRY NEWS
The International Code Council Board of Directors recently announced it certified the results of the online governmental consensus vote for the 2019 Group B cycle.
Accordingly, the final action results were published April 8.
The board reviewed the findings from an independent Validation Committee before making its decision. The Validation Committee determined that there was a valid voting process with no irregularities or concerns material to the outcome.
As part of the validation process, staff did a thorough review of voters and found that all, with two exceptions, were validated on time and according to the bylaws.
