"...........The UN: it started as a global effort to prevent all-out war and provide peace making services where local conflicts became hot. It kept the cold war cold.
The UN provides the global platform for international dialogue for all nations, including the newly independent ones that threw off the yoke of colonialism and are still working to undo the forces of Neo-colonialism.
The UN provides the global platform for learning of and from each other and embracing the diversities of peoples as all dignified members of the species Homo Sapiens.
The UN provided the major tools for development of nations across the poverty divide; and, understanding that exploitative development is dangerous for people and planet, has embraced the notion of Sustainability and Resiliency in order to assure a future for all of mankind.
The UN promotes science and education across all nations, for all peoples.
The UN is 75. The UN made mistakes; the UN has been handicapped by geopolitical power games; the UN is not free of criticism.
Looking forward to the next 25 or 75 years, I/we invite you to embrace the UN Charter, as well as the UN system and give us some of your suggestions to keep the UN, and therefore mankind, alive. ......"
